Our Story
From a little yellow wagon to lighting Tampa Bay
- Age 11
A scooter, a wagon and a neighborhood
Jared Dorsey started a neighborhood lawn business with an electric scooter and a little yellow wagon in tow. He saved all his earnings to keep buying new equipment and expanding operations.
- Age 16
The first truck
By the time he was 16, he had saved enough to buy an F-250 and a 16-foot trailer. The neighborhood operation started to look like a real company.
- Age 18
A team and a fleet
A few months later he started hiring full-time employees, and he already owned four vehicles by the age of 18.
- Baylor years
Leaving to learn, without letting go
It was a tough decision to leave his business behind, but Jared attended Baylor University for continued education. He asked his mom and his manager to run the business while he was away, so that when he returned he could grow it from where he left off. He graduated with a BBA triple major in Entrepreneurship, Business, and Real Estate.

Jared returned to a stable business whose growth had plateaued. Since then he has led Everything Outdoors, with the help of a great team, at an average growth rate of 95% per year, looking forward to the future of the company and the impact it can make on the community.
- Today
A decade of holiday decorating
That same drive built the Holiday Decorating division: more than a decade translating customers' visions into constructible designs, with Christmas lights installed on thousands of homes and businesses across the Tampa area. Jared is an Eagle Scout and a Plant High School alum, was recognized by Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful for Outstanding Participation in its service projects, and donated a full re-landscape of the historic Plant High School campus.
